CBS Bullet Points/Love Notes

CBS is working hard to annoy me.

Watching the Friday night (Feb 15th) OTA HD airing of Ghost Whisperer, we noticed they added very large, very frequent, factoid like overlays called Love Notes across the bottom 20% of the screen. Yeah it was a rerun so we sort of blew it off. Then last night, the CSI: Miami airing of Deep Freeze had something just as annoying called bullet points. I personally think this is a very annoying trend and I suspect they will not stop with these two shows. It's not enough that we barely get 40 minutes of content. Now they have to gunk that up as well with these annoying overlays.

I went to CBS.com and saw there are many upset people posting in their message forums. I posted as well, but I went several steps farther. I left direct feedback to CBS.COM on their feedback form on the contact us link. I also plan to send emails to some of the advertisers on those two shows. I want them to know I'm not going to watch shows with this annoying junk. I told CBS in my feedback that I was doing this.

If you were annoyed by these new banners, I encourage you to leave feedback at CBS.COM.

I never write complaint letters, or that kind of stuff, but this sort of went past my threshold. If you disagree, sorry for the rant.

I agree that they should be sent a message about this. It was probably a test to see how people would react. I think the station logo watermarks are as much as should be placed on the screen. Crawls and upcoming show ads drive me nuts.

Unfortunately it's coming. I see it everywhere on commercial TV now at one time or another. Stars (premium channel) even has it on the ending credits (on the SDTV channels anyway). Watching many more rental DVD's than I use to now.

I can "almost" understand/handle the SpikeTV style upcoming show ads because they don't last very long. This junk during the whole show is #$%&!

I see it coming too and am trying to slow it down if I can. We also watch a lot more DVDs than we ever did before. I may have to get into serious video editing if they keep this up.

It looks like all the complaints worked. The love notes and bullet points are gone. . . . . for now.
