Vista and Graphics Acceleration

Folks,

I've done some searching, and can't seem to find any good workarounds.

I recently installed Vista, and I am just getting to installing Sage Client with it. When I initially launch Sage, I get a black window. Thinking it was video acceleration, I went into the sage.properties file and disabled acceleration. Sage launched, and I was able to do with it what I wanted.

I assume that acceleration should be very much functional within Sage and Vista - can anyone shed light on how to get it working?

Vista 32 (with Aero), nVidia 8800 GT, Sage Client 6.1.9

I get a message that says, vista graphics have been downgraded to basic settings when launching sage. I.e. no Aero interface. It might have something to do with this but I'm not sure.

Replying to my own...

I updated last night from 6.1.9 to the latest 6.3.5 on my server and client, and my problem with graphics acceleration magically went away. Vista automatically disabled Aero and went about displaying Sage in the proper way.

Perhaps the older version wasn't hooked into Vista properly, or perhaps I had incorrectly set up the client... either way, she's working now!

Thanks for the help,
-Greg

Mine works fine with Aero enabled. I use VMR9 with FSE disabled. Works great!

Same here...Aero is one of the advantages with Vista and Sage...no FSE needed.

I find that in Vista with FSE disabled that occaionally things will happen that cause Sage to lose focus and the vista desktop appears. There is no way to reset this with the remote, so it's a big WAF problem.

Do you ever see this happen? Better yet, how do you prevent it? FSE was always a hack, but the focus issue is a big deal.

Thanks....
Mike
