HD100 Bricked after latest firmware?
Hey all,
I had been having some video stuttering issues and intermittent lock up problems with my HD100, so on Friday I updated it to the latest firmware. Unfortunately now, after the unit discovers my server the screen goes blank. I have followed the procedure to force a manual update to the firmware, and after it restarts, same issue -- screen just goes blank. I tried going back to the older firmware version without success this waY (http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/showthread.php?t=30323) I have also tried the latest beta version of the firmware to see if that solved my problem but still no joy. Server is running 6.3.7 -- the server and another client work as good (or better) than they ever have with the new code. HD Extender is hooped. Any suggestions? |

with the screen is blank. powered on, have you tried to hit the aspect ratio button see if the video comes on ?

Yes, even went in and reconfigured the Video Output a couple of different ways, but that didn't work either.

I had that issue the other day, first time in quite a while since I had seen it. Try shutting down sage and rebooting your computer. I believe it is caused because the HDx is unable to obtain a license. When I see this happen I have issues with other Sage software, such as PS and the client.

Fixed!!!
Thanks Carlgar -- the fix was as simple as restarting the server. Things appear to be happy once again in TV-land.

I believe I saw a trend with regards to the problem you experienced. In my case I noticed the event log on my server showed an error approximately every 2 days that coincided with the HD extender and MVP failing to communicate. My client (on the server) continued to work after this though. The solution in my case was to create a bat file to stop and restart the service every night (Early morning) so that it never reaches the point of the error every two days. So far so good.

If anyone has log files from their server when this occurred please file a bug report so we can get them from you.
