SageTV company health OK?

Would love to know the financial health of the SageTV company. Is it growing? Or have there been layoffs? What is the outlook/expectation for 2008 and beyond? With Vista Media Center a formidable competitor, which supports CableCARD (hint, hint) and slick GUI, which comes for free with some Vista versions how will Sage survive?

Note that I prefer Sage for its wide range of client devices and support for many tuners still. The MacOS beta updates are slow in coming, is this a platform the company believes in and puts resources on?

I must say, the last year of development for SageTV has made so much progress. I'm actually proud (fanboyness ) of the Sage team... YAHTZEE!! Then again, I don't use a mac.

This year we got the HDX and hopefully a component capture card coming soon. M$'s cablecard enabled PCs don't have anything on that.

That being said, it looks like sage is planning for the future (my speculation). Whether they are financially set or not, it looks like they will continue to push forward. I just hope they don't sell to yahoo or google or some big company who doesn't care.

Since they're not a publicly traded company, it seems unlikely they'd provide details about their financial health and business strategy to anybody other than their owners and private investors.

Sure, agreed. But it would inspire a lot of confidence if they would volunteer some information on how it's going.
