Wunderground Weather instead of Weather.com???

Has anybody either created, or thought of creating, or perhaps even modified the existing Weather applet within SageTV and SageMC to get it's data from the Weather Underground rather than Weather.com? I publish weather data to the Weather Underground as do many, many other Weather enthusiasts and have found that being able to view the data from that site is often more accurate than the 'guestimates' that we get from interpolation at the Weather.com site.

I like the current format that Sage and SageMC uses a lot, but would just love to be able to choose a WUnderground site as source..

In my case it is the data from KCAHEMET3..

I am also interested in this as I am a little ways from Austin and it's ALWAYS a different temp at the station about 2 blocks over.

I always thought this would be cool too, but I thought what would be even cooler, would be to develop an interface between the weather station and SageTV, so you could have your "own" weather...

I just have never bought the Davis weather station I was planning on doing a while back...other things just came up. Hopefully some day, I plan on doing that.

I've wished and wished for this. I have a Davis Vantage Pro and also use StormLab which is weather RADAR analysis software. I can generate still frames or loops with the analysis overlays. I'd love to be able to incorporate those all into it.

By the way, thanks for such great software of your own. I'm a SA convert and won't ever use anything else.

That is what I have too.. but I'd think writing for a particular format would be more trouble... I publish my data to weatherunderground, which I believe you can publish to from any number of home weather stations, then I'd think programatically, that it would be pretty simple to grab data from that site to use within Sage.. I think many Sage people that love the weather plugin don't realize how many stations are closer to their home than the one that puts the data there from Weather.com!

To further coolify this.. how neat would it be to have the moon image show the correct phase of the moon?? Maybe too geeky, but that would certainly be cool!

Did no SageTV wizard get a weather station for Christmas and want to revist the ideas of getting data from a Personal Weather Station into SageTV weather? Wunderground still seems a likely source..

Still would like to see SageMC use a real moon phase image too..

I would like to add my interest in this project. I also upload weather data from from a Honeywell weather station to weather underground. The nearest official reporting station is 20 miles from my house and at a different elevation. The weather.com feed is often 10 degrees different than the actual temperature at my house. Using the temperature values from my weather station would be great!

I run CWOP station N1PRS-9 (aka: AR651). WU picks up my data from there. Also available thru MADIS & MesoWest. Most definitely interested in being able to see my own data on the display, altho I'm partial to the NWS for the actual forecast.

Yeah, I think we are mainly interested in the 'current conditions'.. perhaps a config option.. current conditions from: 1) Weather Channel, 2) Weather Underground....

Forecasts and such wouldn't have to be changed.. just the current temp/wind/humidity/rain/conditions stuff..
