"selected files no longer on disk" LIES!

New problem for me, maybe somebody else has had it and knows the solution. Here is the list of symptoms.
Pictures:
Shows the listing of the pictures, but the thumbnails are all blank.
When you attempt to view one of these, you get fullscreen blackness.
DVDs:
Shows the listing of all teh DVDs, but the ones with cover art attached, shows no disk image, no cover art, just background.
When you attempt to play the DVD, I get "There was an error playing (insert disc title): ERROR (-2): Files selected for playback are no longer on disk.
Videos:
Same as DVDs

All of these items are on a seperate storage server and are UNC pathed to the Sage server as import directories. I can browse to all of these files from the sage server without a problem and without a password.

Steps taken:
Re-import my media - No change
Re-boot Sage server - No change
Delete and re-create all import directories - No change
Re-boot Storage server - No change
Re-Re-boot Sage server - No change

Any thoughts?

If you're running Sage as a service, make sure the service is logged into a user account that has permission to access those paths.

I am running Sage as a service, and I can browse to those paths from the sage server using the same account. Also, this setup has been running for a few months and has only started having this problem recently (less than 2 weeks).

But, did you double check the SageTV service settings like Greg suggested? If you recently installed a SageTV update, the service login info will have been reset. I'm not sure if anything else would have cleared it.

I guess maybe I don't understand what you're asking me to check. The sage service is set to run on the administrator account. When re-booting the Sage server, the service does start (I am able to connect clients without touching the server, and the service control shows it running when logged in). When I log into the administrator account on the Sage server, I can browse my entire network without ever entering a password. Also, I assumed that since I was able to remove and re-map the import directories (i.e. sage was able to see the import directories on the storage server in the first place). If none of that is what you're referring to, I guess I don't know what you're referring to.

PS... I haven't installed/updated anything on the server in at least a month. So I'm unsure of what could have changed as well.

Well... it seems to be working again...

When I went through and checked the service manager again while writing the last reply, everything looked right. i.e. the user was Administrator, service was running, etc. When finished posting the reply, I clicked through the change user button, which then told me that my user was Administrator, and then asked me to enter a password. I had expected to just ensure the settings were correct, but I no longer had the option to cancel out, so I put in the usual password, and confirmed. Finished watching a recorded show we were in the middle of, and rebooted the server, and now everything seems to be working again.

Sorry for the troubles. I still don't know what change caused it to lose it's mind, but hopefully I won't have the problem again.

Thanks for the help!
