SageTV under Linux: general questions

I've got some questions about SageTV.

Does SageTV support DVB-S and DVB-S2 tuner cards under linux?

I would like to set up a linux box as a tv server with two DVB-S tuner cards to be able to watch live tv and movies on any other Linux desktop and laptop on the network.
Does this work?

May I use the HD Media Extender just like a normal DVB set top box (using the remote to change channels)?

Is it possible that two people can watch different channels (using two tuner cards) at the same time?

Yep, and it works great!

Yep. And at the same time, any number of users can be watching shows that have finished recording. Personally I find I rarely watch shows as they are being recorded any more.

I can't give an answer from personal experience here, but a friend of mine says the linux DVB-S support is *almost* there. He ended up writing a network encoder
to get it fully working in the meantime.
