Mac OSX Install fails because sage.jar running

I notice this every time I try to install a new SageTV rev by dragging the SageTV app onto the Applications folder in the install window. I get an error message that states that sage.jar is running. I always make sure that SageTV is not running when I attempt the install, but I still get the error message. The only way I can install is to delete the previous SageTV app from the Applications folder altogether.

You could use the activity monitor to find that process and inspect it.

I have tried using the activity monitor right after seeing this error message to detect sage.jar running , but strangely, sage.jar does not show up there.

The server is still running in the background. Open System Preferences, click on the SageTV panel, click on the Startup tab, and you can shut it down from there. You will need to have a copy of the app in the Applications folder or the server tabs won't show up...

Does it say 'All Processes' in the top left?

With SageTV app closed, nothing SageTV related shows up in the Activity Monitor (All Processes). But I did follow iconic's instructions above and was able to close down the SageTV Server from the SageTV Preferences pane in OSX System Prefs. That seemed to do the trick!

Thanks.
