Hi, I saw in clearance section Hauppage WinTV Go-Plus cheap enough to play with and find out what the whole PVR thing is all aout :-). Would it work with Sage on WIndows or Linux?

IIRC, that card is a software encoder card. I wouldn't recommend it. Software cards use your CPU to encode th video instead of the card's built-in processor. It may work in windows, but the linux list of supported cards is limited. It seems that new upsers try to use software cards because they are cheap, but end up replacing them with a hardware card if they don't get fed up and ditch the project first.
I'd look for a hardware encoder card like a PVR-150 or a HVR-1600 with both analog and digital capturing,
