Xvid and MP3 Sound no go

i am having a problem playing certain video files.

THey are encoded with XVid video and MP3 audio.

I get great video and no sound, can someone point me in the right direction?

I have similar problem. No audio on xvid with mp3. Reboot and suddenly audio, perfect quality. Couple hours later, audio has alot of static. Later on, no audio again. Not able to reproduce it consistently.

On my XVID files I get playback error (works on MVP) after it tries to load the file then it jumps directly to live TV with volume max blasting.

Anyone else experience this? I'm running latest (as of Monday checking) firmware.

Anyone have any ideas why this would not work.

Is it not a supported format i.e XVID with mp3?

It worked with the PC, but there I can control the codecs.

well, FWIW the 20071226(0) FW fixed the XVIDs not playing (they appear fine now the whole 5 seconds i've had a chance to watch). However, the HDX can't resume from last stop on the XVID files. Will investigate some more.

I don't have any problems playing back Xvid AVIs using MP3 audio with my MVP, so it is possible to playback Xvid with MP3 files.

mostly there talking about the new HD Extender unit. I have zero issue playing XVID w/ mp3 on my SD MVP but the HD extender is another story. And yes I filed enough bug reports this afternoon alone. to make anyone's head spin.
