Comskip & SageTV Client
Hello,
I am trying to get Compskip working with the SageTV client and am having little success. I have tried using the STVi Comskip (Comskip Playback for Default STV v1.5.0 (107.7 KB)) and using SageMC (sagemc_6_3_6b_full.zip). Both are on a FRESH install of SageTV Client (about a day or so old) It works fine on the Server so I tried setting the import directory to "\\server\recordings" instead of "e:\recordings." The client has access to the networked share. Does anyone else have any other suggestions? ![]()

You meant that you set the Recording folder to \\server\recordings, not the import folder?
If so, how long have you been recording to \\server\recordings? Any existing recordings that were recorded as E:\recordings won't comskip on the client, but any new recordings that you record to \\server\recordings should work. What happens, is Sage knows that it saved the old recording to the E: drive. That file is still there and accessable, so it has no reason to change the location in the database to \\server\recordings. You'd need to do some filemoving or something to get Sage to update the location in the db. Record some new stuff, confirm that the location shows \\server\recordings and see if you can comskip on them. YOur other choice is to map the root of the Server's E: drive as E: on the client. If you do that, your old recordings should comskip just fine since the client will look for the comskip file at E:\recordings, and find it.

Shut down sage and back up your wiz.bin.
Create a new recording folder on the E drive Take the share name that you had on the old recording folder and Share the new folder with the old share name. Move all the recordings from the old recording folder to the new recording folder. Restart Sage. Sage should notice that the recordings are no longer at their original location. Sage should notice that the recordings are now in a new location and update the recording location in the wiz.bin to now be \\server\recordings. Now, your client will be able to access the comskip file through the UNC path.
