Client displaying blank screen
I am running 6.2.10 client which is connected to a 46" Sharp LC-46D64U. I am using a DVI to HDMI cable. Sage works with no problems when I am using it. I am also running Vista Ultimate with media center disabled. The problem is that when I turn the TV off and then turn it back later on that Sage displays a black screen. This happens with both the onboard graphic card and an aftermarket one. I know that it just an issue with Sage because when I do it just with Windows it display properly.
The only way I've been able to get Sage to come back on after turning off the TV is to put it stand by mode and then wake it up. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks in advance.

Is anyone else had or seen this problem?? Is it just a problem with Vista??
Edit: I didn't have this issue before when my server was connected directly to my old SD tv.

I have a Nvidia 7600GT and trying to get display out to my Toshiba HDTV. I get a picture fine until Windows loads then the screen goes black. I just built this new server and had no problem with my old set up using an older ATI card with DVI. In both the new and the old systems I used a DVI to HDMI cable to the HDTV. I have the card set to 720P. Why am I not getting a picture with this newer card? Does this have anything to do with HDCP? What are the fixes for this?

I believe I'm experiencing the same problem. I've posted about my issue here. Have you found any solution to this problem? |

A little more info on this...
It seems the problem is related to VRM9 rendering. By switching to overlay I was able to eliminate the problem for the most part. It does still appear to cause a little havoc with the Vista desktop when trying to minimize SageTV occasionaly but it does behave much better. Another work-around seems to be to put SageTV into standby mode before turning off the TV. This isn't particularly practical in my opinion but it does seem to eleviate the problem with VRM9. I'm hoping SageTV might be able to be modified to listen for some sort of HDMI hot-plug event and put itself in and out of standby before and after the TV power is cycled. |
