HD Extender - Can't get Aspect Ratio Setting to Stick
When I set the Aspect Ratio to Fill (in the Multimedia Setup Menu) on my HD Extender, the setting won't stay. As soon as I go to watch a show, the show is displayed as Source AR. If I press the Aspect Ratio button on the remote and set it to "Fill" it's fine for that viewing session. If I press stop and then play the same show again, I'm right back to Source.
I have tried setting the option in the menu, then putting the unit into StandBy, then press Power on the remote. When I fire it back up, AR is back to Source again. Is this some ploy by Sage to gradually get us blasphemous image stretchers to stop it? I have an HD Extender with the 20071207 firmware, Sage 6.3.5. My output resolution is 1920x1080i and I am using component. I've selected the HD1080 Theme. Any ideas what I might be doing wrong? Is it possible for me to just hard-code this setting into the properties file....and if so, what is the proper way to do that? |

I'm having the same issue. I sent a request to tech support and they acknowledged I had sent in the request, but they didn't give an answer. If I get one and they let me post it, I'll let you know.

Actually, in some ways it's good. The aspect ratio is set to source, which is typically fine for HD, but I can 'override' it for SD material. I feel that it's a bug though. I'll submit a bug report tomorrow. Andy. |

Personally, I'd leave it the way it is and add a setting to persist it.

My setting isn't sticking either. I'd rather have it configureable though so that HD channels were source and SD channels are set to fill.

Support replied that there isn't a way to do this in the current release but they will add the functionality in the next release.
It sure is great to have the developers listening to the needs of the users directly. |

That it is. In the mean time though, I have the auto aspect plugin setup to do this.

When hitting the aspect button on the remote I get it to change and it seems to stick for me. Which is actually a problem. I try to cycle throught the AR's and it gets stuck on Zoom. I tried to unlink the button but it doesn't seem to work...
