Lisence Questions on switching

I maybe switching over to Linux for my server, Will my placeshifter and client licenese still be valid if they remain on their current platfroms?

It really sucks there is not a crossplatform option for the license to allow you to switch platforms.

Using 6.2

Nope, you can not use the windows license on the linux server. You will have to buy the linux one which will run you $79.

Placeshifter and client licenses are still valid if they remain on their current platforms. My two Windows clients still use the same license, for ex. Also, note if your clients are XP based and you are wanting to play ripped DVDs, it doesn't work. You either have to convert to a single file format or use Vista as described in my tips thread.

Maybe i was not clear

Thanks for the answer, but maybe i was not very clear.

I understand i will need to purchese the Sage OEM for the server, but my question was what about the placeshifter and the 2 client licenses i have. I found a post that said the placeshifter license checking is currently not working so i guess it is not imeadiate that i get the placeshifter now, but what about the 2 clients? They will remain running windows until the HD extender is released.

Sage, can you do a discounted package for a HD extender and Linux Sage?

The Placeshifter and Client licenses should be fine.
-- PlaceShifter licenses are for Connections
-- Client licenses are client-based, and you did not mention that you are changing them, just the server.

The only license change for the server change should be the server license itself.
