Looking forward to this. I would like some of functionality of controls from the SageMC interface. I am interested in being able to run scenes from the remote. Camera viewing... sure! As far as the ability to perform ALL of the detailed setups, I would still use my main laptop to add/remove controls etc. If somehow you could integrate your plugin to populate devices and/or scenes from an mControl WHS backend, my wife would love me

Yeah, I'm still waiting, too . Definately a WHS plugin. I'm moving my Sage server over to WHS in a couple months.

Its nowhere ready for prime time yet (still in alpha) but openremote.org looks to be promising. the concept of completely open automation interface being worked on by people closely related to the jboss movement sounds nice albeit its a few years off.

Very cool. I've never heard of that. If mControl doesn't start stepping up, that may be an option if they support Insteon heavily.

it looks to be a fully plluggable interface so no worries about getting locked in to a proprietery protocol. Im thinking of actually contributing to this. If their are any other developers here I think we could make a difference

I have a C4 system that I use only for lighting and HVAC. One of these days I may start using the C4 system for some media but I haven't bothered since I don't think it is as good as Sage at this. As a general comment C4 is a lot more "closed" then I would like it to be as they want to sell their own hardware for everything and make you use dealers. They sell very expensive touch screen modules that are substantially more then it would cost to buy a tablet PC to do the same thing - hence they don't offer PC based software to control their systems.
I have control4 mainly for lighting controls & rs232, IR, and IP control of A/V equipment in my house. As far as integrating I created a IP "driver" for sagetv so I could free up an IR port on my HC-300 controller. I just use it as a remote control only. I did'nt see any need in getting media to scan in control4's onscreen navigator because I'm not a big fan of their GUI and it's just too slow. I'd much rather use SageTV's interface for media playback. When control4 allows more flexability for the onscreen navigator I might change my mind.

My issues is more in the other direction, I would like to be able to control Control4 devices from within Sage rather than control Sage using the Control4 UI. I don't use C4 for media at all.

If anyone has an IP/driver available please let me know? I have been using SageTV for 6 yrs but just got Control4 and it would be helpful for the installers. Thanks
