SageTV Version 5 and HDHR - BDA??
Probably asked and answered before, but I couldn't find it. Can the HDHR BDA drivers be used with Sage Version 5? If so - low grade tutorial please? My HDHR is running fine as a net encoder, but ABC's 720p hiccuping makes me want to play program streams rather than transport streams. I can convert them offline, but if the BDA's will work, I gather that SageTV will convert them for me.

AFAIK HDHR BDA (wow) support is only for 6.2+.

+ The UPSIDE of going to SageTV 6.2 (and converting from HDHR Network Encoder to BDA):
Quote:
- The DOWNSIDE: the BDA scheme currently being used limits us to 68 enabled channels (out of however many are currently clear on your cable system). And 'Freeloading', tapping into your neighbor's On-Demand program [you naughty person], isn't as easily done. Personally, I like the video stability of the recent BDA drivers but we weren't really given the chance to compare it to the latest updates with the Network Encoder method. Then there is SageMC 16x9, that has nothing to do with the above discussion but everything to do with why I like SageTV 6.2 Last edited by Conejo; 10-31-2007 at 02:30 PM. |
