New XP drivers are out for the Avermedia M780
AVerMedia has released version .19 of its M780 driver for all OSes. Does this mean that Sage TV V6.2 will be able to tune in QAM cable stations on XP?
Has anyone tried it? Any comment from Sage? Should it work? Thanks |

I've been using .19 for about 5 days now. So far so good with a couple minor issues (Sage Service has crashed a couple times at the start of a recording). It restarts itself, but miss first minute of a program.
I'm using 2 780's, both recording analog off my DirecTV STB, and HD from OTA antenna. |

I have been using my M780 to do HD OTA for a while now. I was wondering if the new drivers and the capabilites added to Sage 6.2 allow for recording cable QAM HD stations under XP
Thanks |

Not sure about the QAM, but the HD OTA does work for what I can catch. From what I read it looks like the issue isn't the drivers from Aver affecting QAM in Sage 6.2 on XP but Sage support itself. They have the compatibility in for Vista but no mention yet of XP.
Not to hijack your thread or anything, but do you folks have a problem with audio or picture stutter for OTA HD on this card? And what's the SD quality like on the analog tuner for you? |

I dont have any stutter issues with HD content recorded by my M780. I did initially have several stutter issues caused by client playback though. I have since adjusted my SageTV client settings and the stutters are long gone.
My SD recording quality is excellent. My SD signal comes from a cable hook up. The only issue I seem to have is that HD programs audio seems to be much "quieter" than on my SD stations. So when I go from an HD program to and SD program I sometimes have to quickly drop the volume Last edited by PosterBoy; 10-11-2007 at 08:37 PM. |

I wonder why my SD recording looks grainy. I also have my cable coming in via coax and if I plug it direct to my TV it's clear. However, watching live tv or recording via the analog input on the M780 (and even my Saber 2020 when it was working) is always grainy.
I have the volume issues as well between HD and SD. There's a thread here that addresses it. I do use an AV Receiver so I'm going to give it a try and see if it helps. Thanks for the feedback. Last edited by shardinite; 10-11-2007 at 08:50 PM. Reason: Wrong link provided |

I'm still on .14, and I'm having this same behaviour.
