H.264 black & white output only

I've recently upgraded to Sage V6, which went fine. However it seems like the builtin converter has an effect on my video output -- after trying to play a H.264 file that *sage* generated, all my H.264 files play only in black and white. (regular Xvid is fine, native sage recordings also OK).

I'm waiting on an email from support, but I suspect it may be monday before a response is forthcoming, so maybe someone has an idea in the meantime?

thanks

Cory

EDIT: graphedit reports file --> avi splitter --> CoreAVC video & Mp3 audio
WMP plays H.264 fine (with colour) using the same codecs
the original file that "caused" or coincided with the problem, was an .MP4

EDIT: Seems if a conversion is running, *and* I play a sage generated (ie: high CPU requirement) conversion, that then crashes the player.
I think I've solved all my problems, except, it seems running the conversion doesn't play completely nice with other processes -- suggestions?

I set always_use_dshow , and this took care of the problem, at least partially. THe files that I care about, now play properly.

However. The H.264 file generated by Sage, crashes the player.

Is there some middle ground? It would seem something that I did changed the default behaviour of where certain streams were being sent?

Cory
