Clearing all Recording conflicts to re-analyze

To all:

Thanks for all the help in the past.

Each year shows change slots, some have double showings, etc. I can also get recordings from other sources. I would like to be able to clear all recording conflicts so I can check them all again to see if they are all still valid.

I have searched the forums and cannot find where to clear all the previous recording conflicts in one motion so I can do them over.

Thanks to all.

Don

I'm not sure what you mean by clearing all recording conflicts because resolving a conflict generally involves giving the Favorites a specific priority of one over the other. SageTV will still try to record all the shows it can, including rescheduling some to record a future airing of the same episode. It is only when no airing of an episode can be recorded that a conflict will be generated.

If you just want to check the Favorite priority, you could go to the Favorites Manager & see if you want any to have a higher priority. (That doesn't mean the higher priority will always record its first airing; it just means that the higher priority Fav will bump another Fav if they can't both fit into the schedule.)

Sorry I was not clearer. Here is a hypothetical example.

An example. Last year, I added two favorites, Numbers and Monk. I put Numbers above Monk because I if I missed Monk, I could buy from Itunes or download. Even though I put one higher than another, if there was only one showing, it would create a recording conflict. I would choose Numbers and everything was fine.

Now, this year the situation changed. I can no longer download or buy Monk, but can for Numbers. So I want to have Monk over Numbers. Even though I move the priority, it still holds the conflict resolution of always recording Numbers over Monk. I would like to clear that.

Now, imagine I have 52 favorites and the network schedule has changes and also the availability of alternative sources. I would like to clear all of those recording conflict resolutions because I have new priorities. Other than deleting all the favorites and re-adding (which I have done before), there should be a way to clear all the recording conflicts I set so they will all show up again and I can re-evaluate each one.

Either:

Go into favorite manager, and change the priority of the Monk favorite to be higher than Numbers (Select it, hit Right, then Up a few times, then left. Check the manual for further details).

Or

The conflicts will still appear as auto-resolved, so the next time there is a conflict select the 'Always record' option that you want...

There is no easy way of clearing the favourite priorities so that all new conflicts come up as unresolved (other than the remove/re-add that you describe. Re-adding can be semi -automated with the webserver's export as XML/import function)
