Recording conflicts in Sage
Hi,
I'm pretty much a new user, just paid for the product a few weeks ago. Really enjoying it. This forum is great too! a lot of helpful information! My question regards the recording conflict issues in Sage. I still didn't figure out how it works! All I get is a yellow TV icon, which I understand means that the scheduled programs will not be recorded. In such cases, shouldn't Sage record a rerun of the conflicted program? This is not the case with me. I often notice that Sage misses programs that were conflicted with other recorded shows. Please help me out here of refer me to a relevant link. Thanks. |

See p. 74 in the v4.1 PDF manual that is in your SageTV directory for a description of conflicts. The scheduler automatically tries to record another airing of a show & the conflict notification only appears if it can't schedule any airings of some show to be recorded.
One thing that can cause lots of conflicts is having a single tuner with lots of padded favorites. You can have SageTV remove padding for back-to-back favs on the same channel (Detailed Setup -> Customize), but that is only when the shows are on the same channel. A lot of people use multiple tuners to help prevent conflicts. - Andy
