How do I add unlisted channel that is not in channel setup?

Help, I got a PPV football game that is on a channel that is not showing in the channel setup menu.

How can get a recording for that channel?

Well I just remapped a channel to the channel number I needed and it is tuning properly, so it works.

Anybody have a better solution on how to approach this?

I had a similar problem with PPV films.

I went into the channel lineup for the tuner I wanted to use and just added a new channel with the correct id. It appears in the program guide with "NO data" all the way through but I can select it when needed and view what is showing.

You mean that is what the "Add a channel to lineup" does.

Thanks, I was panic mode when I could get that channel, this will work much better.

But... If you do this and try to record something it will botch the recording 9:10 times as that "No Data" channel only has 1.5 hour shows that start and end at just about any time depending on who knows what.

It would be sooo nice if SageTV built in a means of modifing that so we could have a DVD channel and a CCTV channel and a ??? channel. Of couse you would still need means of changing the start/end times if you wanted to archive a homemade family DVD or whatever. For the CCTV channel it also sucks as it my wife were watching that for the last 1:15 and the doorbell rings I may have to FF through 1:29 minutes of nothing to see who is at the door. This is a VERY desireable feature for TV viewing though.

You could try setting up a timed recording. However it seems to have its own set of bugs that don't make it an ideal situation either.

It would be nice to be able to add additional guide information, but you first need to have a source to pull it from.

I have done just that!
I have added Channel 1 as Video, Channel 2 as DVD and Channel 700 as Pay-Per-View

If I want to download a dvd I just set up a timed record on the DVD channel and start it up. I normally do the default of one hour and adjust the stop time once it is running.

I do exactly the same for Videos and pay-per-view. I have NEVER had a problem using the above method.
