Which Channel-Change modalities are built-in to Sage 6.2.x?

Hi All,

I'm finally about to add digital cable converter boxes to my Sage setup after running direct cable into Sage for the past few years.

Given my preference for simplicity, I'm trying to run down a definitive answer on which channel control mechanisms are built-in to the recent Sage builds, eg don't require a secondary app to be run. Most of the posts in the archives don't help me figure out what's *currently* supported.

(Specifically, I'm adding a pair of Moto DCT2524's to a dedicated server with PVR-150 and PVR-500 cards, Sage 6.2.x. for WinXP.)

My DCT2524's don't have a firewire port, so I'm assuming I'm limited to an IR Blaster or Serial Control. I'm looking for the bestest/fastest/cheapest/simplest option, but in particular don't want to have another app running on the server that requires add'l configuration, upkeep and overhead - if I can avoid it.

Thanks!

My USB-UIRT works fine to control 2 STB's just fine. It has zoned IR outs. You need to mod a file, but it's very easy to do, and is quite reliable.

Of course, I also have a R5000-HD mod on one of my STB's, and in that case, tuning is done via USB.

Thanks
Mike
