updated to all to 6.2.65, everything stopped working

I just updated all three of my programs to 6.2.65
SageTV
Placeshifter
TV Client


Sagetv & TV client shows no EPG and blank for TV watching
placeshifter I can see EPG and watch TV

All three I have lost my inported videos than where on another network drive.

Sagetv server ONLY has SAGETV running on it.
Formated from scratch and only sagetv running on it.
winxp home
Was working great.

What happened?

Double check that it was installed in the same directory where it was installed previously. If it wasn't, uninstall & reinstall to the old install dir.

If you are using service mode & UNC recording and/or import paths, make sure the service is configured to log in as the same user + password as before. This gets reset during an upgrade install.

OOPS!
did not pay attention it was a beta

Actually enabling the server killed it.

with server off I needed to delete all sources and start over again.
Then sagetv on server worked fine.
Enabled server then it killed sources again.

How do I roll back to last instalation?

YES
I did all that.
Oh' well
getting my ghost backup and wipe out everything.

Still have to go backwards with placeshifter and tv client

The beta forum as a sticky for How to install a new version of SageTV, which covers how to make a backup of the previous version for easy reverting if you need to.

Normally, installing an upgrade like this would just be a matter of installing the new version on top of the old version w/o even uninstalling the old version first. I'm not sure what you ran into in the upgrade install... it almost sounds like you installed on Vista & used service mode, but SageTV.exe was not run in admin mode, so it couldn't talk to the service. But, I thought the latest installs took care of that automatically.

I reloaded my backup from ghost and everything is working again.

Placeshifter and TV Client are still beta but they work fine right now.

I ghosted problem drive but I not want to mess with it tonight.

Tomorrow is another day.

It may be related to xmltv import tool.

When I installed beta it seemed to have lost EPG
When I tookout plugin it just got worse.
Seems that server did not want me changing EPG and when
I took out plugin it did not help.
It kept deleting EPG info.
