Upgraded to 4.1, now my remote has stopped working.

Hey folks,
I upgraded from 4.0 to 4.1 today and when the option to configure support for the hauppage remote came up, I unchecked it because I didn't want it to overwrite my irremote.ini file which I had customized. Unfortunately, when 4.1 came up it wouldn't respond to the remote. Oops! So I went back, uninstalled 4.1 and then re-installed and checked the box to configure the support. It re-installed, I restarted the hauppage ir software as instructed, but it STILL won't respond to me remote. Any suggestions?

Hmmm...perhaps it happening along with the upgrade is just a coincidence. I can't seem to get any output when I open up notepad with a Debug.txt filename and hit buttons on the remote either which would seem to indicate a problem with the remote/receiver, not Sage.

Here's what I have to do each time I upgrade, don't know if it's necessary or perfectly correct, but it works. Hopefully you saved the old copy of "sage.properties" from the previous install. Open it in notepad or Wordpad, scroll down to :
ui/rc mappings/0=3434565555.............etc
ui/rc mappings/1=232242343........etc

Copy that entire section of "mappings" and paste it into your new "sage.properties" found in \program files\Sage TV\Sage TV.
Re-start Sage and your remote should work.

Those properties lines are not used for the Hauppauge remote, unless using the MVP or Linux versions.

If you checked the Hauppauge remote option during an installation, then when you reinstall SageTV, it will overwrite the ini file by setting it up for SageTV or clearing out the SageTV section depending on whether you check that option or not. Always keep a backup of irremote.ini if you've modified it, otherwise just keep the option checked.

If you restart ir.exe & then open debug.txt in notepad & still get nothing, then the remote isn't working properly. If the remote is working, you should also try going to Detailed Setup -> Commands & set the option for which remote to use.

It was the IR Receiver. Luckily I had a spare USB-UIRT sitting around so I hooked that up. Thanks for the help!
