So should I upgrade?

I've had sage running since v3 was in beta...and (for the most part) I'm happy with it. But last night I noticed reports of a bad block on my hard drive.

Now, I could just replace the hard drive and live happily ever after...but I could also upgrade.

Currently I've got a p4 2.8Ghz w/ 1GIG RAM (running XP Pro).

I know I WANT to upgrade--but would upgrading gain me that much performance wise, and display wise? Which version of vista is best for Sage?

Are the drivers for vista "good enough"? (I've been following the thread on vista, so I think it may be--I've got mostly just Haupauge stuff and a USB-IRT)

I would upgrade the hard-drive. Leave the other stuff for when you actually have a reason to upgrade it.
I've been in your shoes before, though. LOTS of reasons to 'fix what's already working' but in hindsight it's never worth it.

After switching to HD with a significant degree of difficulty I was hesitant to upgrade to v6. After all, everything was working reasonably well.
However; I did have a minor stability issue with v5 sometimes when deleting programs - it would stall out for a few minutes occassionally.
Also, I was concerned my client pc would have a harder time with a newer version.
I finally decided to upgrade and am very happy I did. I haven't had any stability issues and really like the additional features - especially the Music enhancements.
I must admit I really didn't think I would use the online videos - but they are actually pretty cool too.
The MP4 conversion is great too (I use it with and STVi that allows me to crunch my favorites - my daughter's always wanting to keep stuff around for some reason, so now it's no big deal).
