HD Video delay after resume
In my set-up (see signature), whenever I try to play a HD video clip/recording (1080i) after resume from S3. I will see this 5-10 seconds delay (black screen with animated icon) before the video will play normally. This situation does not happen right after I reboot the machine nor when I play SD recording.
On every resume from S3, I actually restart Sage service and client through a script automatically. I have tried switching my AGP driver from MS default to VIA driver, and still see no improvement. Has anyone experience similar problem? Vincent

I would probably say I have seen this as well. I thought it was just my machine cause it is a piecemealed client that only runs Sage. I would get long pauses when starting playback after waking from S3. My PC has absolutely zero parts like yours so I think that could be ruled out. Maybe something with S3 mode I guess. I always assumed it was the PC needing to "wakeup" the NIC since it was allowed to be shutdown so it would go to sleep.
Don't know that this helps but it could be similar circumstances |

Just a follow up to my own post
After using Riva Tuner 2.02 to check the status of my AGP card, I found AGP Fastwrite is always turn off after resuming from S3, even thouth it is turn on in the MB BIOS. Manually turning this feature back on fixed my HD playback delay problem. After some research on the Internet, I believe this is a feature of the VIA chipset in my motherboard. So I just added Riva Tuner to my script so it will be executed (and turn AGP Fastwrite feature back on) every time coming out of standby to fix my problem.
