WinXP Pro processor scheduling setting?

Hello all, I'm running SageTV on XP Pro in *Service Mode*, and I am wondering what the best setting in in the Processor scheduling settings, is SageTV considered a background service by windows? or is it considered a program?

Edit: I should have been a little more specific, I'm asking about the server side of things only, I don't actually watch anything on the server, all I use are MVP's

Ta,
Fraser

If you are running just the box just as a server and not watching any recordings or TV directly on that box, you would probably be better to set it for Background Services (which is what the SageTV service is). But if you are using the box as a client as well, best to leave the setting as Programs.

Honestly, it really doesn't matter much when it comes to a strictly Sage computer, as the setting just handles the priority for cpu time slices. Without super processor intensive services running (like an Oracle or SQL database, or Exchange Email, typical server stuff) you would likely not notice the difference by switching over to a Background Services setting. But that setting would likely hamper the client side of things.

its ran as a service. If you check msconfig it will show up on the services list. You really shouldn't have to change anything at all on the processor scheduling. Displaying video is what takes up the processing power. Just recording it is almost nothing, especially if you have a hardware card like a PVR-150. In fact, I recommend you leave it alone.

Thanks razzilian, I wasn't sure if the server ran in JVM and if it's considered to be a background service or not.
