Volume Leveling For Music?

Does Sage have a volume leveling feature for music? I am referring to reading a tag in the music file and adjusting the volume accordingly like Replay Gain in JRMC and Auto Volume Leveling in WMP? Thanks.

I assume the silence means a big no? I personally can't stand having to hold onto the remote all the time to adjust the volume so I can't live without this feature. It would be excellent if this was available especially in the extenders...

Personally, I just use MP3Gain to apply the changes to the source file, so that I never have to worry about each device or program's ability to handle the leveling. Obviously, this is only a solution for MP3's, but I'm sure there must be some similar option for other formats.

Actually, mp3gain doesn't change the source, it just adds tags that players use as hints on normalization. It still needs a player that understands the tags. I'm not sure Sage does - does it work for you under Sage?

Thanks,
mike

Nope - MP3Gain _can_ just add the tags, or it can adjust all of the frames to normalize the files. I use it all the time.

Thanks but I don't want to touch the original lossless files. It seems that the tag approach is not supported. That's too bad...

Well, you never did specify what format your files were in. If they are MP3, then (1) they aren't lossless and (2) MP3Gain's change is non-destructive and reversible.

As I mentioned before, I don't know what the options are for other formats.

This is something I'm very interested in as well. (In fact, I consider it essential.) Modifying the original file isn't an option I'd be enthusiastic about.

Since Sage can't do this, does anyone know if you can configure Sage MC to "hand off" music files to a 3rd party app like JRMC, Winamp or Foobar?
