Will you watch Sage recordings on your iPhone?

Just wondering. I will for sure.

Which begs another question: Do the built in transcoding profiles need to be optimized for the iPhone screen?

Wow. Didn't realize that was possible.
With the success of the iPhone, this could REALLY help sage, if there's a bit of marketing muscle involved.

Well, let's wait and see if the iPhone will really be that successful. The commercials really kick ass and make me want to run out to buy one, but articles like this dampen my enthusiasm quite a bit...

Haven't they said that the iPhone won't support Java ? and not only that 3rd party apps are limited to running within Safari anyway, so I can't see a Placeshifter port (and there's been no Placeshifter port to Windows Mobile etc)

Or did you mean transferring the video file onto there to watch them ?

Nielm's webserver and a nicely transcoded file might work. But I was referring to the transcode piece in SageTV 6+

Transcode using one of the iPod profiles then export to iTunes and you'll be set. The iPhone syncs via iTunes, just like iPods.

Just watched my first transcoded sage show on my iPhone - this works just as I hoped it would.

I just got an iphone and tried transcoding an HD program for it. Is there a transcode setting for ipod in Sage that won't squeeze a widescreen show into 4:3? Like a "widescreen ipod" setting?
