Question How to record non TV signal with SageTV?

I connected my camera or vcr to my Hauppauge PVR-150.

I used to copy camera/vcr recorded video on my computer using the Hauppauge WinTV software (had an easy record button).

How can I do this in SageTV? I have enabled the 'composite' of the PVR-150, and can see the video in SageTV. But how to start/stop recording?

Jan

Sage is totally based on the program guide, so basically you must wait until the begining of one of the 2 hour no data chunks and start the recording.

Or use a Timed Record starting now and lasting x hrs, and use multi-function stop plugin to stop it...

Did some minor testing and believe to have found an easier way. I go to My TV and select the composite channel, start the VCR and hit RECORD on the remote. After a confirmation message it starts recording. When done, hit RECORD once again and it asks if you want to save the recording (hit YES of course) and as a result .. one mpg file with the recording.

True, but if you are the end of a 2hr 'No Data' segment, or if your recording lasts more than 2hrs, then the recording will be split over 2 files, which is why I suggested timed record.

And the 'save the recording' is an SageMC feature similar to the stop+keep recording in my multi-function stop plugin (just cancelling record will mean that Sage will think it is a partial and hide/delete it)
