Choose which mpeg-4 decoder Sage uses?

Which mpeg-4 decoder does Sage use? Where are the settings to change it? WMP decodes fine yet Sage loses audio sync very quickly. Version exeriencing this problem is 5.0.4.92; mpeg-4 compression is mostly xvid.

You should try version 6.1. It's Mpeg4 handling is improved.

Handling aside; I'm interested in how Sage chooses a decoder for mpeg-4 and whether I can change it. There are several available on the machine it's installed on.

For MPEG-4, Sage defaults to using Mplayer, if you disable that, I believe it goes with whatever filter has the highest merit on your system.

In 6.1 there's this property for explicitly stating which filter is used for H.264 content:
videoframe/h264_video_decoder_filter

I assume you're talking about Windows Media Player and not MPC. Why then would WMP decode fine but Sage screw it up if they're both using the same decoder?

And, he meant a very old version of MPlayer. I am having the same problem with it: audio/video loses synch very quickly on all my h264s. The newer versions play them perfectly (outside Sage). I can only pray that Sage updates its MPlayer soon.
