x264 avc mpeg 4 in sage? lossless?

I read the new comparision of compressor software at Doom9.org, the AVC from x264 won. It is freeware developed by videolan. http://developers.videolan.org/x264.html

First question, does sagetv play x264 encoded files in the import library?

Second, looks like different programs use x264, like FFDSHOW and ffmpeg, vlc media player.. what programs are people here using and to what success?

Can you teach a newbie how to do it, maybe automatically with dirmon ?

Third, from snooping around the doom forums, it looks like their is a lossless version of the AVC high 264.

Not natively. You have to use a custom STV that supports external video player.

I am still waiting for Ateme's HP AVC encoder to make it into Nero Recode. Easiest tool to use with the best encoder.
But alot of people over at Doom like Doom's own MeGui.
