DVD menu -no current selection

When I play a DVD through Sage, I don't get the highlighted field shown when I navigate through DVD menus. The navigation works - there is just no visual indication of what is highlighted. Happens in both the default STV and SageMC....

Is this a known issue?

I think this is the only thing keeping me from achieving a 100% WAF with SageTV!

I have the same situation. It is driving me crazy, I thought lots of people used sage for DVD playback. Is this only happening for some people?

I filed an official request for support with Sage for this issue. I'll let you know when I hear back from them.

So I got a response from Sage on this issue - unfortunately it didn't help any.

>"Try selecting different DVD video decoders
> in Detailed Setup > DVD. Then try using
> different DVD Video Renderers in that
> section as well.

> One other thing you can try is enable
> or disable 3D Acceleration.

So I tried all the variations of decoders / renderers / 3d that I have on my system. Still no luck.

btl.

Something to try. Be aware that the YUV reg hack may have adverse effects on television de-interlacing with the nVIDIA decoder.

I had this problem a few sagetv versions ago when using the nvidia post processor. I recently upgraded my client to Vista and the problem returned using the standard nvidia purevideo (default) decoder. Considering that the purevideo decoder isn't designed for Vista, it doesn't really surprise me.

I've been troubleshooting this with the official Sage support - they had me pull some log files. Turns out this is a bug in SageTV that shows up only on Vista. So hopefully in the next release we'll see a fix for this!

This is not a Vista only bug, it happens in XP also. I have had this problem for quite a while. Happens on some DVD and not on others. Also happens in the MVP.

I agree. It is NOT a Vista bug. It happens with my XP setup.

Have you tried all the combinations of 3D on/off, overlay vs VMR9, decoders? I haven't seen this issue in XP although it is 100% there in Vista......

This happens with me as well - using Windows XP. I returned DVD playback to Overlay and the menu highlighting returned.

I found that it varies with DVD to DVD. Some work, then others it doesn't show up and then others it works at first, and then when I go back to the menu after playing it doesn't work.

If I see it again I will file a bug with Sage Support.
