MVP Capture Error
I've done some searching an nobody seems to be have reported this problem with the MVP.
During playback I keep on getting dialog boxes that say: There was a Capture Error in playback. Details: ERROR (-2,0x80040207): There was a problem using a SageTV component. Please re-install the SageTV application. I restarted my server last night and the problem went away. But it came back again tonight. Any ideas would be great. Thanks. Do you have logging turned on? It sounds to me like you have a problem with your Sage software, but until a log is created, it is hard to say.

I forgot to mention that the video and audio actually continues to play normally. I just get the dialog box in the middle of the screen about every 5 minutes, give or take. I just press select on my remote and it hasn't skipped a beat. It never stops even with the dialog on the screen.
I need to stop and do some testing on my server here soon. I've also been getting a few random BSOD/reboots on it with an 0x000009c stop error, machine check exception. Which means there's probably something hardware related going on. The last thing I did with it was added another GB of RAM (2x512MB). I'm wondering if I have a bad stick of RAM or something. I think over the weekend I'm going to run some diagnostics to see if I can figure out what's going on. What's really sucked is the last couple times it's rebooted on my I've been in the middle of watching something. I noticed another time it rebooted at like 5:40AM. |

Time to do some burn in tests on that ram then. passmark.com is my recommendation. I was recommended it and have used it and recommend it to others. I used to use memtest86, but Burn in program at passmark does more than just memory, which is why I now prefer it. I recently had a back stick of ram that was causing me all sorts of problems too.

Well, I ran memtest86 on my server for a day and no errors ever popped up. I ran chkdsk on all my partitions and I have yet to start getting that error again. Kind of weird.
