Possible to totally disable recording while watching live tv?

Hey guys,
Is it possible to disable this part of the PVR to reduce cpu load and hard drive work? Maybe my HD shows will play back with no stuttering?

Thanks
Mo

NO x 2. Even if it were possible, the amount of CPU being used would most likely not be enough to save any studdering. Besides, most studdering is not due to cpu or disk caching, it is due to the video card. If I try to run my clients at anything greater than 720P, I get studdering, however, my CPU is only sitting at 40% usage. Different codecs/vid cards are the way to go (maybe CPU if you are running an underpowered cpu such as an < Athlon XP 2800+ or < Pentium 4 2.6).

Disclaimer: If you are running HD with less than what I mentioned above, good for you. I am not trying to start a "minimum requirements" thread, I am simply using those as example "base line" systems.
