Exclamation Hiding my Porn

Hello,

I just upgraded my Sage from ver. 5 to ver. 6.

Ver. 5 simply showed my imported videos folder as a folder, whereas ver. 6 uses folders with thumbnails - these thumbnails result in my porn being displayed when I go to Imported Media using ver. 6's folder view.

My mom is going to be coming into town next month, and I really don't want my porn to be so obvious. I have it buried in folder that contains technical howto videos, but with the thumbnail slideshow going, I'm eventually going to be exposed for the pervert I really am.

What I'd like to do is go back to a folder view like in ver.5 - one with no thumbnails. Can it be done?

I'd also like Sage to stop showing thumbnails for my (non-adult) movies. All I see is a bunch of studio logos (that are typically found at the beginning of a movie) so it's really more of a distraction than actually helpful.

Thanks!

In sage.properties, try setting "hide_server_under_mattress=true".

Then I'd have to set "mattress_advanced_texture=false" in mattress.properties, which would interfere with "thread_count=500" in sheet.properties.

Quick + dirty hack...

Go into the SageTV/GeneratedThumbnails folder, and delete the thumbs that you want to hide.
Shutdown the server, Set the property video_thumbnail_generation=false and restart the server.
No more video thumbs...

Or just move the pr0n out of the import dir and refresh... (if you really feel the need, you can play it by browsing to it....)

You could also use dynamic menus and add a PIN code to be able to access certain folders. I use this method (but not for porn). The only thing is if you were recently in the folders and went back to the main menu, then pressed back you would be able to see the video folders.

I did this last night (with Sage off, not sleeping) and it just recreated the thumbnails. I guess I'll try it again.

For now I'm using the browse method. It's not really that much of a hassle (I thought it would be) so maybe I'll stick with it. This way no one can stumble on to it by accident.

Thanks!

Would be nice if Sage could be set to password protect import directories...

It would be nice if Sage had a "hide_my_pron" property and, when set to true, swapped any thumbnail with 70%+ flesh tones with a fluffy bunny picture...

Put them in their own folder with a picture of what you want called "folder.jpg" and it will do just that.

I just store it on the client machine and use the play other file function when I want to watch it. Of course that only works on client pc's.

Meh, nothing automatic about that...

I agree though, would be nice if Sage provided it rather than a STV I don't like...just the ability to define certain folders as adult-rated with Parental Controls enabled.

It would be great if there was a way to set favorite options to record to specific folders as well - and set folder options to use parental restrictions for the whole folder.

This would be very useful for separating the kid's shows from the adult, my shows from my wife's, etc.

There is a lot of content my wife likes but I don't (Noprah, Dr. Pill, The Eeew, etc.) and stuff I like my wife doesn't.
Also there are some shows that I'd just prefer my kid's not even see the title of - like "Talk Sex" (which is hilarious).

If there was a favorites option to "Save To Folder" then these could be better organized.

Of course, the recordings menu and or record dialogue would also need a "Move To Folder" Option.

How do you do this? I never saw an option or even knew it existed.

See the initial post here (Filtered Menus for Video and Music Library) and the update (note: syntax changed!) here ...

That particular improvement would be huge. You could get so much out of being able to pick folders for recordings. Security, manage your own space concerns, privacy, ability to browse shows from non-sage interfaces with a higher level of ease. I'm sure this isn't an easy change, but it sure would be a great one.

Thanks
