Dvd profiler still in business?

Hi, I bought Dvd Profiler version 3 about a month ago to use with SageMC. Their website has been down for a while now I can't add any movies because Dvd Profiler can't connect to their servers. Does anyone know if they are still in business?

I could've sworn i saw somewhere that Profiler had changed company names, no longer owned by IVS.

Lifted this off another forum where the same question was being asked.

Quote:
Intervocative was a software 'co-op' and apparently only one of the developers got a product to market (Ken Cole - DVD Profiler). Invelos is a new company started by Ken Cole and is responsible for DVD Profiler Version 3. Intervocative has rights to previous versions. Intervocative has a TRO against Invelos. Both sides promise a quick settlement. We'll see what (if anything) is left standing after the wrangle...
(snip)
3.0 is really a lot better than the 2.x series and the person behind DVDP is Ken Cole and he is definitely no longer a part of Intervocative.

I've read up and the current keys do in fact work with 3.0.

Also I've been searching for a place to download. I finally found a place:

http://softobzor.ru/tmp/?D=D

Search for...
DVDProInstall.zip

Download is slow. I'm getting 2.8k sec.
I don't know if the download will ever finish and I don't know if the download will be clean/safe. I will scan it as soon as I'm done and report back.

Use at own risk though. If the website is down, updates/downloads etc likely won't work.

I won't overwrite my main collection for sure.

download finished and file looks good.
I need to backup my current database. I'll probably install it on my wife's computer tonight.

Speaking of backing up the database...i just did a clean install of windows and only exported my collection.xml. I went and installed DVD profiler again and noticed I cannot import an xml file!!! It is asking for the .dpb backup file. Am I screwed???
thanks

Screwed.
Sorry. What you needed to do was backup the database out of DVD Profiler. That backs up all the info and images. Your .xml only points to where the images were.

JUC,

If you don't have one, a barcode scanner makes entering your DVD's a breeze. I got this one (link to item on ebay) several months ago. It works great. I was able to add a ~40 DVD backlog in about 15 minutes. (It was actually fun )

Aloha,
Mike

(Andy, I'm not sure if it is Ok to post the ebay link. My apologies if not.)

Maybe this would help clarify: In my opinion, there's a difference between mentioning something that can be purchased somewhere vs. offering to sell an item yourself or advertising that you have something for sale.

Now, if it turned out that you were giving a testimonial for something you were selling...

No, nothing like that. I'm not that sneaky (or smart).

Thanks Andy
