Does a better Video card give a better picture?

I'm using a 6600gt Nvidia. If I upgraded to a better, more memory, faster clock speed card, will I get a better picture?

Thanks

Possibly, what don't you like about the picture you are currently getting?

Read this thread for lots of info on nvida cards and getting good playback.

It's not that I don't like something about my picture. I just want to make sure I'm the best picture possible. If I can get my image crisper, sharper, whatever, then I want it.

I mean my picture looks great to me, but I could look at someone else's and say, WOW that looks better.

The PQ on my 6600GT noticably improved when I reverted my drivers to 84.21. YMMV

Aloha,

The amount of memory and the clock speed of the card have no effect on picture quality at all; the memory is used only for texture storage and other 3D stuff.

When it comes to picture quality, I suppose it depends on the class of your current video card. If you upgrade froma really old NVIDIA card to a much newer one, you'll see an upgrade in quality. The reason for that is that they pretty much re-architected the whole damn thing at some point. Going from a 6600 (which is what you have I believe) to a 7600, though, you won't notice much difference at all (if any). The NVIDIA products hardly changed at all between the 6600 and the latest card.
