Video Card Question

I got a new computer and did not upgrade the video card directly with Dell because I read that their selection for my model was not very good. I don't know much about the varying cards out there, only that I probably don't need a $500 card since I dont really play games very much..

Any recomendations? I would use it as a sage client so tv out is important. I also might play SOME games like Civ 4 or something like that, so it needs to be a little better than a fx5200 I think. Should be PCIe16 with DVI.

I was thinknig somewhere in the $100-200 range, but there are a ton of cards and im really not sure whats what.

thanks for any help. This is only somewhat Sage related, but you guys knows your stuff. If you know of a better forum to post this I would appreciate that information..

Geforce 6600 or 6600GT

You can even get them without fans (at least the 6600 for sure). Priced between 100-150. I recommend getting one with component out for maximum options for connectivity. I have a geforce 6600 AGP by gigabyte that is completely silent and works flawlessly for HDTV content even. Pretty decent for gaming. Nothing great but then I don't game much really.

I have been reading a lot on newegg and that seems like that is where I was heading. Thanks for the input!

If you look at NVidia's site the only card in the 6600 series which is ISF certified is the PCI-E GT. FWIW

Thanks for the tip.. i picked up a 6600 GT at lunch today. Microcenter has 20% off all of their video cards so it ended up right at what Newegg is charging for the same card... nice to have it in hand.
