Sage Performance ? Maxing CPU sluggish responce

Ok .. i built a media box just for Sage 6

Asus P5N-E
Intel Core2Duo 6600
2gig ddr2 ram
2 750gig sata2 drives in raid0
winxp sp2 + all patches

nothing else is installed on this machine, no office, no firewall software, no antivirus nothing zilch.

I have an internal PVR-150mce and an exteranal hauppage usb2 , both of these have internal mpeg2 encoders so are just streaming data to the very fast disk.

Yet .. sage is running 95-100% cpu all the time with 2 recordings and just streaming 1 of them to an mvp (no clients, no place shiftings, no playing the videos on the server).

Ideas ?

Does sage spike at the 95% when idle, or just during playback.

Do you use the server as a client as well, (ie watch tv off of the server). Any HD content.?

Does the CPU usage spike only during recordings? During recording with playback, playback only. etc.

I have run a successful server (with playback) on a 1gig celeron with 500mb ram and standard 5400 rpm PATA drive. So your hardware is WAY over what is needed for smooth operations.

I was not doing any local viewing nor any hdtv .. however it seems if i use the sagetv "control service" instead of the sagetv application in sleep mode the problem goes away .. at least so far .. still monitoring !
