OT: While none of this affects me being on the other side of the Atlantic, I cannot believe . . . . .
Nielm, being at your side of the Atlantic I should feel safe on this subject.

However, my epgdata shows correct information but the Sage TVGuide shifts one hour as of early sundaymorning , when our DST changes.
Example: a program that airs at 19:00 (according to correct epgdata) is shown at 20:00.
I'm running Java V6 and have all Windows XP SP2 updates installed (including KB931836). Changing back to Java 1.4.2.03 does not solve it.

Any suggestion what I could do to fix this?

Regards, jan

Jan, your issues are nothing to do with Java or windows fixes! (the reason for those fixes are because the US changed it's DST switch-over date, and so every software that includes DST switch-over-dates had to be updated)

(Andy, can you split this off into a separate thread as it is not US DST-related).

I am also using Java V6 and I can see in the Sage program guide that it knows when the switchover is because it jumps from 01:00 to 03:00 on Sunday, but programs still have the correct duration (eg a 1hr show from 01:30 to 03:30)...

So, assuming you are using XMLTV data, your problem can be one of 3 things:
  • The XMLTV data is does not have a time zone, so everything is imported using the 'current' TZ
  • The XMLTV data has an incorrect time zone for the data after DST has started
For both of these, look at the xml files and compare start times for programs starting before/after the DST switch. If they are incorrect, check that you are using the latest version and complain to the XMLTV project, or your xmltv grabber writer
  • The XMLTV data is correct, but it is being imported incorrectly into Sage
For this, complain to your importer writer

If you are lucky, the first EPG update after the DST switch will fix all the problems

This is how a program crossing the DST boundary should look in xmltv:
Code:
  <programme
             start="20070325002000 +0100"
             stop="20070325070000 +0200"
             channel="1.tvgids.nl">
    <title lang="nl">NOS-Journaal en NOS-Studio Sport</title>
    <url>http://www.tvgids.nl/programmadetail/?ID=6158362</url>
  </programme>
If you are not using XMLTV but using TVTV data, complain very loudly to Sage and TVTV until someone fixes it
