6.1.3 - Date Disappeared On Main Screen?

After upgrading to 6.1.3, mine just shows the day of the week and time. It used to show the date. Did this happen to anyone else?

Mine does the same thing, but I can't say that I noticed it before you said something.

Ah, can we have the date back please? I just found myself needing it today. I was checking my scheduled recordings and they are listed by date, but I couldn't use the heading to see the date for today.

Thanks,
Rob

Exclamation Restoring Date to Screen Headers

I haven't seen a response yet from Sage on being able to turn this back on. Many of us use the date on the header as a reference. How do we enable this again?

Report it as a bug... and request it as an option.

This is actually very easy to fix yourself, about the easiest customization you could make.

1. With Sage running, press Ctrl+Shift+F12 to open Studio.
2. Press Ctrl+F to bring up the Find dialog. Enter $ClockE and press Enter.
3. Scroll to the top of the window and find the highlighted $ClockE widget (with a bold b next to it).
4. Left-click on $ClockE until it goes into rename mode.
5. Rename it to $ClockDate and press Enter.
6. From the File menu, choose Save As... (not Save), type in a new filename, and press Enter. Do not save over top of SageTV3.xml.
7. Close the Studio window.
8. Press Home to refresh the main menu.

This worked a treat for the OSD when playing a video. Can I do the same thing for the date displayed when in other menus e.g. program guide

thanks
paul

Just keep searching for more instances of $ClockE and renaming them to $ClockDate.

Great - found it

Had to search the XML file itself tho. The search in studio didn't work too well

The built-in search highlights all the ones it finds, but it is up to you to scroll the display to see all the highlighted widgets.

If you want extended search abilities, check out GKusnick's New tools for Studio users. (Well, they aren't really 'new' anymore, but the tools are quite useful. )

Yeah I figured that out eventually

When I searched for $ClockE I made sure that all nodes were collapsed, performed the search and scrolled down. No nodes had expanded so i assumed that it found nothing

The built-in search is case sensitive, so maybe what was entered didn't match exactly. Or, at least I know that's what I do often enough.

I'll test it again tonight but I'm pretty sure I searched several times with a variety of cases
