Placeshifter can't find Java

Does anyone know how Placeshifter locates a JVM? Just installed it on my work machine, which I use as a Java developer. It has a Java sdk installed at C:\j2sdk1.4.2_13 and a JRE at C:\Program Files\Java\j2re1.4.2_13.

The JAVA_HOME environment variable is set to C:\j2sdk1.4.2_13 - need it that way for my work.

When I try and launch placeshifter it says it can't find a jvm.dll. I tried launching it via a batch file that sets JAVA_HOME to the JRE, but still no go.

Any bright ideas, anyone?

Maybe a stupid suggestion but did you add the JRE path to the Windows system "PATH" variable?

Thanks for the suggestion, hadn't tried that; just added C:\Program Files\Java\j2re1.4.2_13 and C:\Program Files\Java\j2re1.4.2_13\bin to the front of the PATH and still no go.

it uses registry keys...

The Key:
Code:
HKLM/Software/JavaSoft/Java Runtime Environment
contains sub-keys for each installed JRE (listing their home dir and runtime DLL location), and has a String value: 'CurrentVersion' which points to the currently used JRE key.

There may also be a mirror of this key in HKCU... which allows a user-specific JRE to be used.
