Two placeshifter clients on one PC?
OK, I just added a second tuner to my sagetv server. I have one placeshifter license installed on the server, and one client license on my main pc. With two tuners I can launch both the client and placeshifter client simultaneously on the PC and watch 2 different channels. (Great for sports.)
I also have placeshifter installed on a notebook. If I buy another placeshifter license for the server, will I be able to launch two placeshifter sessions simultaneously from the notebook each showing a different channel the way I can with a client and placeshifter on the PC? Or can only one distinct placeshifter instance be launched at a time on a single machine? I know I could buy a client license for the same $$ as another placeshifter license, but the placeshifter license would be more valuable to me as it could be used by any PC in the house. Thanks. |

Edited: I was about to say that only a single PS client can run on a single PC, but then I remembered the info found here.

Thanks for the pointer. It works. I purchased another placeshifter license and using the method in that thread I was able to establish two simultaneous placeshifter sessions from one notebook.
Thanks! |
