Cable Box Support - Motorola DCT700

Cannot get Sage to IR blast to the Motorola DCT700.

Tried all Motorola/Universal options available with Sage.

There's a windows program to allow custom IR's for Sage Windows, anything like this for Linux or are we left out in the cold?

Or, could there be support for the Motorola DCT700 added to Sage?

This is one of the standard cable box's from Comcast, so I'm sure others would benefit.

Hauppauge Supports this box with their utility:

The directory <sageserverdir>/remotes has compiled files for cable/sat boxes.

How would one get created for the DCT700?

I have attached the latest remotes which should be in the next release. You need to extract the file in /opt/sagetv/server with tar -xzf remotes.tar.gz

newremotes.tar.gz

Demo,

Do you work for tips? If so, where's the jar?

Sage would have lost a customer a long time ago if you weren't in these forums.......

Definitely will be on the look out for the HD extender.

If I can get this working well and when HD is supported, I'll be interested in becoming a real OEM to resale Sage to my customers.

The updated files you gave work, however now channel commands are sent twice.

For example, Test ir commands with "6" sends "66".

Testing power, if the cable box is on, the power command is sent twice so the cable box is turned off and back on.

Is this a Sage or a non Sage issues (ivtv/hauppauge)?

Please verify that

irtune_repeat_factor=1

is in your Sage.properties.

It's set to:

irtune_repeat_factor=2

I hope I didn't miss that in the setup someplace.....

I'll set it to 1 and re-setup my cable box tonight and let you know the results....

I am not using a Usb-UIRT instead I an using a microsoft/ehome MCE Blaster with SteaphanM's Remote KeyMap program and Sage Driver (.DLL). I just hooked it up a few days ago and never used it for blasting before but decided to give it a try and it works great. I can even control the each blaster port.
If it matters I am using a DCT-700 with Verizon Fios.

I never hear much said about using the MCE Blasters , probably because it is only nativaly supported buy XP or Vista MCE. I had to find the proper drivers and such to use it with windows xp home on my Sage server. Its been a long time since I set it up originally but there is an FAQ I think in the hardware section on how to set it up.

Can the MCE Blaster control multiple STB's? I have 3 DCT-700's on FIOS that I'm trying to control via Sage server. Thanks!

I think the MCE can only control 2 devices? I am using a Command IR II for 3 DCT-700s and a QIP 6200 box.

I think you may be right. I just ordered a USB-UIRT, so hopefully that will get me up and running.
