Can't get guide data to load

I have Ver 5.0.4.92 and for the life of me I can't get the setup program to list providers to be able to choose one. I'm pretty certain I've made the needed changes to the sage.properties file, but I still get nothing.

Using a Nectcom modified Star Choice DSR505 sat STB as the video source.

I'm hoping some of that have much more experience can help me out. I've attached a copy of the file below if that helps. Tried to attach it but it wouldn't take so it's posted below in it's entirety.

You get no providers at all? Check this FAQ to make sure SageTV (or the service) has permission to get through your firewall so that it can contact the EPG server.

(And, you can attach text files if you change the extension to .txt.)

No, none at all, and I even have the Windows firewall turned off. There is also an NVidia firewall program which is also turned off. By playing around I finally got the "cannot connect to server" popup, but even turning the firwalls off, still nothing.

I'll look through those links you provided and see what I can come up with. I'm certain that I just don't have something configured correctly, or a line of text in one of the files in incorrect.

Was there anything in the sage.properties file that I posted look wrong, or out of place?

This means that you are using a plugin, not the standard EPG. Therefore you would have to check with the plugin docs to see what you have to configure or possible causes for the problem...

Or simply remove the line (while sage is shut down) in order to use Sage's internal EPG. I don't know about the zap2it one, but most EPG plugins cannot be configured within Sage.

I'll try removing the line and see what happens.

I was somewhat confused about the whole EPG thing as the Sage site says that it now incorporates EPG in their software for US and Canada listings, yet, on another page it talks about using a third party program to get those listings. It seemed inconsistent so I wasn't sure what to do and the link provided at the Sage site to DigiCasa seemed to be rather dated, but anyways, I'll try what you say.

As far as firewall issues, I also have a PVR program that works with the video source(Star Choice STB) and it does connect to Zap2it without issue, so I'm guessing that the firewall isn't an issue.

That was it! Removed that line from the properties file and bang, the providers popped up just like they should, much appreciated.

Now, I just have to figure out why I'm not getting any video....
