One more question...

If I stick with 5.0.4 (foregoing the $30 fee, as I started with version 3) would I still be able to purchase additional 5.0.4 client licenses in the future?

Upgrade key

I just looked I bought this program May 03, 2006 and now I have to pay again because this is the 2nd major upgrade since then ?

I guess a 20 0r 10 dollar upgrade I could understand but not more than that... How can I downgrade back to 5 without losing all my info and settings ?

If you bought in May, you should be fine. Version 5 was released in April.

If you're having a problem with your key working in 6, I would contact the place where you bought it. If you bought it from Sage, send it to them.

You need to disregard the date you bought it and focus on what version you bought. If it was version 5.x (which, by the date I'd guess it was) then your 'upgrade' is free. If it was version 4.x or earlier, then there is the small upgrade fee.

I recently had to reformat my media PC. I can not find my version 5 installer. So after checking that the upgrade from V5 to v6 was "free" in dl'd and installed v6.
I purchased version 5 in November of 2005. Its the only version of Sage I've ever used. Sage 6 is requiring that I purchase the upgrade.

Is this the correct date? If so, then it isn't a v5 license because v5 wasn't released yet at that time.

You can find links to older versions in this topic.

hum... I could swear I've always had v5

I guess the change from 4-5 was visually small.

Did you buy v4 and get a free upgrade to v5? That would explain things. You would have v5, but you won't be entitled to a free v6 upgrade because you didn't "buy" v5.

I was searching through old posts and found I did start with v4. I just did not remember it. Oh well. v6 looked pretty while I had the trial running but I did not see any "must have" features.
