Cool

Very scary and interesting. I would trust Apple do have done their homework with their intended customer very well. They have been very good at delivering the right product with the right features to the right people for the right price. They have definately proven they know the audience well.

This could be a very serious contender.

I will be interested in seeing this develop.

So anybody planning to do an iTV STV??

The graphics in the CNET video sure look smooth. Sure wish Sage UI and animation was that smooth...

I usually trust apple to do this stuff right, but they really have never been "with it" when it comes to video. I'll be much more excited when they announce that they're releasing the tools and source code that developers need to hack the hell out of it

I heard the guy in the video mention high resolution of 640*480 and was wondering if it could do any higher or not.

Well you've gotta remember that's streaming h.264 (I think) which is pretty damn processor intensive. Anything that could handle that would have no problem with mpeg-2 or xvid at HD resolutions.

I kind of liked the look and started playing around with a SageMC theme with some of the iTV features. MeInMaui was kind enough to generate a preliminary selection bar graphics to help get it started. With some of the changes I have made so far it could be loaded as a new theme graphics and an import to the SageMC STV. I have no desire to maintain a whole seperate STV but would like a new look from time to time). I'm going to play around with it some more to use for an option on a client or two for myself but was curious if others had an interest in it after it progresses. (Hey, and if anybody else has the time and desire to run with it, be my guest!)

Any chance you have an LCD TV? Just wondering how your black looks, if you do.

The SageTV screen saver looks a bit washed out on my TV unless I'm sitting right in front of it...

Yes, I have a 30" Sharp Aquos. It has a nice contrast ratio and looks pretty good on there.

Well, hopefully that compares somewhat to my 37" Westinghouse.

I'd be VERY interested in downloading a copy of this theme...when and if you think of offering it, and having it ready...

I'm guessing since you wanted the same functionallity of SageMC, that you'd just offer it as a theme, since you wouldn't want to keep up with the STV changes...just my observation.

I am working with a few other cosmetic enhancements that give it an additional new look that could be incorporated on top of the stock SageMC STV using an import to insert the mods. But that part could be left out by anyone to keep the same exact SageMC "look". I'll keep you posted.
