@bcjenkins
I'm trying to do exactly this. I've come across vacard that appears as a virtual soundcard driver and streams MP3. At least I think thats what it does, unfortunately I can't get it to work.

I have an always on fileserver so I was hoping to use it to simultaneously transode several realaudio streams and broadcast them as streaming mp3 on different ports across my intranet.

At the moment however I have not met with an success. I'll keep on trying and report back if I can get it to work. If anyone has any help, it would be gratefully received.

Cheers
Eric

Waiting to see what's in store... Have you figured away to have remote control access? I guess I will have to wait and see.

This seems like a stupid question, but where on the shoutcast page do I copy the link to put in the stationslist.txt file?

When I try to copy the "Tune In" link it I get stuff like: http://www.shoutcast.com/sbin/shoutc...e=filename.pls

The other link usually takes you to a page about the station.

Where did you guys get the IP/Port addresses like:
http://62.75.220.137:9034 ?

from this post http://forums.freytechnologies.com/f...57&postcount=1:
'What I normally do is go to the shoutcast website (www.shoutcast.com) choose a station from the list, right-click on the tune-in button and choose save-as to store the file locally on e.g. the desktop. Then I open up the .pls file with notepad and copy the url part from a line that reads something like:
File1=http://64.236.34.97:80/stream/1006 and put that together with the stationname in the stationlist.txt file. After reentering the Web Radio menu you should be able to select the new station and listen to it.'

Thanks for the work you're putting into this. You did a sweet job on your Movietimes mod for SageMC.

Plain and simple - this SageTV Add-on rocks! Thank you for building this!!!

My only question would be if it would be possible to be able to tap into the list of Shoutcast streams some way, so that the text file config would only be more like a favorites list, and when those streams get boring, you can browse for others.

Wait for next version. I plan to add browsing through the genres en lists and select from that to play instantly or add it to the stationlist (maybe I rename that one to preset list).
But I only can start on this by the end of this month. First I need some vacation. Expect it to be ready somewhere in August.

Did you by chance select the webradio stvi as new stv instead of import into your current stv?

Smile Simple WebRadio for SageMC v1.1

OK SageMC fans, I have created a download page where you can get the latest Web Radio plugin modified for SageMC!

The capabilities are mostly the same as koelec's v1.1. I also have added
  • Add volume level indicator when changing volume
  • Custom2 remote command will take you to WebRadio page
  • When on the WebRadio page, Custom2 will take you to WebRadio Now Playing
  • When on the WebRadio Now Playing page, Custom2 will take you to main WebRadio page
  • A single press of numeric key on remote or keyboard will start one of the first 10 entries in station list. (1 is 1st, 0 is 10th).
You can download it here
Simple WebRadio for SageMC

You should be able to download and import this version over the old version. Make sure to extract all of the files in the download. Some support files have been updated.

Thank you to flachbar for helping me get through some import code issues.

Thanks Chris !!!

I copied the files over to the SageTV folder then went in to Detailed Setup > Advanced >Import SageTV Application Package (.STVi File) and selcted "webradio_import_1_1.stvi".

I then added the Internal Screen "WebRadio by koelec" to my menu as well as "WebRadio Now Playing by koelec" . After selceting the new WebRadio menu items I got the screens posted ... Got me ...

I loaded this and followed the directions to add a custom menu, but all I get is an error stating that the SageMenu file was not found. Anyone have ideas on how to get this to work?

thanks,

I just tried importing 1.1 from 1.0...I had some messed up screens also. What I did is go back to STV3.xml and re-import all my add-ons and WebRadio 1.1. All was fine after that. Try going back to an STV before any WebRadio import, and add 1.1

I think that there may be a slight problem with the volume indicator code... It appears that when you attempt to select a radio station, using the remote, the import resorts to changing the volume.

Morgan111 - Are you using Sage's internal remote processing, or Girder/Hip? Also, which 'key' are you binding to the value of 'left' and 'right'?

Also, would it be possible to 'move' the SageMC portion of this thread to a new thread, since we have several, disparate, conversations for the import? It might make it easier to follow the threads when they are limited to the SageMC portions...

-Jason
