Just installed on my SageTV server first try ... Sweet! ... I live in a canyon and this will really help when having trouble with reception from my stereo receiver ...
Question ... If I know of a local radio station that can also be accessed through their web page, is there a way I can get the right URL info from their page if it is not available on any of the 3 sites below?? www.shoutcast.com http://dir.xiph.org/index.php www.di.fm Thanks! T. |

If it's got some kind of "Click Here To Listen" button, you might be able to copy the link address and parse it.

What remote are you using? Are you using Girder or HIP? When you press a number key, does it change to the proper station in the list? Does the volume go up or down and does the volume bar show up when the volume changes? Does the same thing happen on the Now Playing page as well as the main page? If you have a keyboard hooked up, does it work correctly when pressing a number key on the keyboard. For Left/Right, I did see that I have code copied in on the Now playing screen for the Left key listener to do a "Back" command if "mlbdude/use_left_as_back" is set true. That may not be correct to include there although I have the default setting of that parameter and so it just navigates back to the other pane in the window as I expected. The Right key on the main window is supposed to take you from an entry in the list on the main page to the Now Playing screen, but I do find that the first press will take you to the end of the list, and the next press then takes you to the Now Playing screen. Other than that the Left and Right is handled by the default operation. Are you seeing something different then I described? |

HELP!!
Ever since yesterday, my webradio will do weird things like
1) Play the same station twice at the same time (overlapping each other). If I press stop playback, the other audio stream will keep going with no way to stop; unless I completely exit out of sagetv. 2) One of my stations will play the same song, then stop after a short period of time. If I press stop and play that station again, it does the same exact thing with the same song. Whats going on? Is there a corrupted buffer file? How do I fix this? EDIT: nevermind... rebooted and problem went away! Thanks, -Michael

I'm having the same problem as Jason. Here are my answers to the questions.
What remote are you using? Hauppauge 34 button. Are you using Girder or HIP? USB-IRT When you press a number key, does it change to the proper station in the list? Yes Does the volume go up or down and does the volume bar show up when the volume changes? The volume bar appears and does change, but I'm not able to use the "volume -" as a left button anymore. Does the same thing happen on the Now Playing page as well as the main page? No If you have a keyboard hooked up, does it work correctly when pressing a number key on the keyboard. Have not tried. One other thing. I can't seem to get it to play. I select a channel (from the default channel listing) and press enter (on the remote), but nothing appears to happen. Is there anything I should check? I also have Winamp5.12 installed as I'm currently using the Dynamic menus to simulate, but would rather use this solution. |

Thanks for that info. I have a usb-uirt and Hauppauge remote lying around (45 for sure and hopefully 34 button) that I may be able to hook up and try tonight. For now, try using the play button when selecting a station. |

Web Radio Plugin for SageMC v1.1a 7/11/06
Quote:
I found a major but that was introduced into a table properties that prevented correct scrolling of the station list, so I created an updated version. I went ahead and included an alternate xml import for Hauppauge 34 button remote users which removes the colume additions and right key page change navigation that was added in the latest release. This removes the confusion. I also started another thread for discussion of the SageMC import version of Koelec's Web that can be used to isolate the discussion that is strickly related to the SageMC interface import. koelec.
Do you know anything about the following post? http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/show...17&postcount=7 I said 'No' to overwrite the two files, because the ones I had were from 2006, versus the ones in the import, which were from 2004. Also, when I save the SHOUTcast file to my desktop, it contains only the following line: Quote:

Help - webradio.jar missing or wrong version
I am really excited about this plug-in because I listen to shoutcast streams all the time, and having them integrated into Sage will be great, but I cannot get this to work. I keep getting the "webradio.jar is missing or wrong version" error. I am running Sage 5.0.4 client and I have a separate Sage 5 server. I am assuming that I do not need to do anything with the server, but I even installed the webradio files to the server just in case. I have copied the webradio files from the zip more than once into the sage directory and made sure the all the jar files are in the jar directory. I have run out of ideas to make this work. Can anyone help me?
Thanks |

sation lists.txt
I was looking through all the streams out there and it can be a bit overwhelming to find a good list of streams out there that play good music all the time or ones that aren't offline or overcrowded. Has anyone thought to start a thread where we can post our stationlists.txt files or if anyone wants they can either PM me or send them to stationlists@pyrotechnix.dk

1. webradio.jar not in JARS folder of sagetv directory. 2. webradio.jar is old version, i.e 1.0 version. Could be that the old webradio.jar is loaded from a different place and is used instead. - chris |

Script to Help Create stationlist.txt from .pls files (plus tiny webradio request)
Hi. First, I'm totally in love with this plugin. I use it all the time and it eliminates the last reason for me to Alt-Tab out of sage tv.
I have a feature request that may be easy to do. I like reading the band biographies, but the position in the biography panel is always where I left off. Usually it's at the end. It seems more natural (at least for me) for the biography screen to reset to the top each time the Now Playing window is accessed. Is this possible/easy? Just to express my happiness, I made the following script. What I do is go to shoutcast.com and save stations as XXX.pls to my harddrive. For this to work, please edit the .pls filename so that it says exactly what you want cause this will show up in sage. The station name within the .pls file is too unreliable. So, for example, if the station is "WBXR Radio", you might want to save the .pls with something more descriptive like "WBXR Radio - 80's Alternative.pls". Again, the Filename is what will show up in the Web Radio plugin for you to choose (minus the extension of course). Once you have a folder full of these .pls files, execute the .VBS file I've included (for security's sake, i suggest you inspect ANY VBS file you download from the internet to make sure it does only what you expect). It will produce a single text file called stationlist.txt (overwriting any previous one. If you want it to append instead of overwrite, it's a simple change to the script). After the script is done, you'll see a DONE button. Press the DONE button and then copy stationlist.txt to your sage directory. The Web Radio plugin will rescan it when you open the Web Radio screen in sage. Just in case you have a NO .VBS download policy, here is what's inside: -------------------begin windows .vbs code-------------------- dim filesys, text, readfile, oneline, myfolder, filecoll, selectfile, onefile Const ForReading = 1, ForWriting = 2, ForAppending = 8 Set filesys = CreateObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject") Set myfolder = filesys.GetFolder(".") Set filecoll = myfolder.Files Set outputfile = filesys.CreateTextFile("stationlist.txt") for each onefile in filecoll if InStr(1, onefile, ".pls", 1) > 0 then Set inputfile = filesys.OpenTextFile(onefile, ForReading, True) oneline = inputfile.ReadLine '[playlist] oneline = inputfile.ReadLine 'numberofentries=1 oneline = inputfile.ReadLine 'File1=http://213.251.141.22:8200 oneline = mid(oneline,instr(oneline,"http"),1000) outputfile.WriteLine(filesys.GetFileName(trim(left(onefile,len(onefile)-4))) & "," & trim(oneline)) inputfile.close end if Next outputfile.close MsgBox "All Done" -------------------end windows .vbs code-------------------- OK, so that's the basic stuff. For those of you who (like me) don't like to exit out of sage for anything, here is how I have it setup in SageMC16x9: 1) On the OTHER PROGRAMS screen in sage, I have firefox setup to run. 2) On the OTHER PROGRAMS screen in sage, I have collate_shoutcast_stations.vbs setup to run directly from my sagetv root directory (in my case c:\program files\sagetv\sagetv). [note: if you dont know how to get programs into OTHER PROGRAMS, search the forums and you'll find out how to specify a directory where shortcuts pointing to applications will appear on the OTHER PROGRAMS screen] 3) When I want to add a new station, I have sage start firefox and go to shoutcast.com, choose a station I like and save the list (right click, saveas) as something like "Tony's Old School (Hip Hop Turntablism).pls" TO MY ROOT SAGETV DIRECTORY....i.e., the same place I have collate_shoutcast_stations.vbs. 4) Then close firefox and go back to OTHER PROGRAMS and have sage run collate_shoutcast_stations.vbs. Since my .pls files and the script are all in my root sagetv directory, the stationlist.txt file it creates is already in the right place! 5) Now when I go to the Web Radio screen in sage, My list includes the new addition. The only downside is that you need a keyboard to type in the station playlist filename (or else it defaults to something like Shoutcast Station.pls) and then to close firefox. Hope someone besides me finds this script useful. Note: if you know anything about .pls files, then you might be informed that this script simply takes the first link. The other ones are not used. But this (as far as I know) is how stationlist.txt works...If it can handle multiple urls per station, then someone just let me know and I'll alter this script to handle them. |

Installation
I just rebuilt my sage box and I am trying to install web radio which worked fine before. However I remember there were a few additional file addons after the last release to make it work for me. Right now I have messed text overlay in the application using the download package made available. Is there anyway for the author to repackage a working installation?
Thanks

Compatibility with Sleep Timer addon
Currrently, when the sleep timer will sleep sagetv and stop webradio correctly...
However... for some funky reason, when sageTV goes to sleep using the sleep timer, webradio incorrectly tells SageTV to start LiveTV... so I can hear my TV while SageTV is sleeping! I'm sure this is just a 5 minute fix... adding a simple condition. Chris... pleaseeeeee??????

I installed this today and it seems to work great so far...Thanks..
I also VOTE for making this work on my MVP..since I have several. I wanted to get the Bible Broadcasting Network as one of the stations, but since I couldn't find them on Shoutcast I emailed the station and asked for the ".pls". They sent it to me. I downloaded it to my desktop and it works great from there. I then looked at it with "notebook" and found the "file1" line and copied that to the stations file. But it doesn't play. The oldies station that was there already played fine. The URL for BBN didn't have a port at the end like the other examples in the instructions. the line in the pls is File1=http://bibleb.ic.llnwd.net/stream/bibleb_english It doesn't have the "ort #" like other URL's do... What should I be asking the station for specifically? Thanks, Gary (and again, this is outstanding...) |
